A few of the options I have heard of are: A large decked patio, which is usually in the shape of a circle with a lot of shade around the perimeter, along with a deck that is open for swimming and dining.

A larger deck with a larger amount of shade that is exposed to the sun.

A small deck, with the deck in the center of the cabin, and a smaller deck with smaller shade.

A little bit of both.
